Airport Information

  • The primary international gateway to Metro Manila is Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), located within the cities of Pasay and Parañaque and approximately 7–12 km from the major business and convention districts of Manila, Makati, Bonifacio Global City (BGC), and Pasay. NAIA currently operates three passenger terminals (Terminals 1, 2, and 3) serving domestic and international flights. Terminal assignments vary by airline and route, so delegates are advised to confirm their arrival and departure terminal directly with their airline before traveling.
  • Travel time from NAIA to Edsa Shangri-La Hotel is generally between 25 to 45 minutes, but may take longer during weekday rush hours.

Public Transportation in Metro Manila

  • MRT and LRT
    • Metro Manila is served by several urban railway lines, including MRT Line 3, LRT Line 1, and LRT Line 2.
    • There is currently no railway station located directly inside the NAIA passenger terminals. Travelers using the rail system will still need to take a taxi, Grab, bus, or other road transport between the airport terminal and the nearest appropriate train station.
  • Buses
    • Public buses, modern jeepneys, and Point-to-Point (P2P) buses operate throughout Metro Manila.
  • TNVS / Grab
    • Grab is one of the most convenient transportation options for international visitors in Metro Manila. The Grab mobile application allows passengers to enter their destination, view the estimated fare before confirming the ride, and pay either electronically through the app or through available payment options. Dedicated Grab and accredited Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) pickup areas are available at NAIA.
    • Passengers are advised to:
      • Book rides only through the official Grab application or authorized airport transport booths.
      • Confirm the vehicle plate number and driver's name before boarding.
      • Proceed only to the designated Grab/TNVS pickup area indicated in the application.
      • Avoid accepting transportation offers from unauthorized individuals inside or outside the terminal.
      • Allow additional travel time during weekday morning and evening rush hours.
  • For international delegates attending meetings or conferences in Metro Manila, Grab is generally the easiest point-to-point transportation option, particularly when traveling between the airport, hotel, and conference venue.
